Childhood Dreams.

Story:

Do you remember what it was like to be a child? With dreams, hopes and aspirations about what you wanted to be when you grew up? Dreams can take so many shapes depending on the type of person but also the circumstances under which they grow up.

So many of the children we meet have very simple dreams. Many of them have special needs and their schooling (kindergarten or elementary school) may or may not be covered by the social welfare net. Therefore, it often happens that they end up missing important milestones in life.

We want to help fulfill as many childhood dreams as we possibly can. Join us on this journey!

This is a family that consists of three children that are all visually impaired. The husband is not able to work due to visual impairment as well so the mother tries to work as a housemaid, earning $14 a day on the days she finds work.

But Zeid, who is not able to go to a usual kindergarten due to his medical condition, must attend a special kindergarten to prepare him for the Special Needs School.

TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF SCHOOL: $1,400

When Mohammed was 8 months old, he developed cancer in his eyes and had to have an operation to remove both eyes.

Mohammed’s mother works as a cleaner in a hospital and with limited income and three sisters, his family does not have the means to pay for Mohammed’s special school.

Previously, Mohammed’s fees have been paid by the Government, but with a recent removal of support for many special needs students, Mohammed’s school fees are no longer covered.

Mohammed is now in 5th grade and we want to help Mohammed’s family with monthly financial assistance towards his school fees.

TOTAL ESTIMATED COST OF SCHOOL: $1,400

Mahmoud suffers from a special eye condition where he can see fairly well during the day but cannot see at night. He has also recently developed Epilepsy so going forward, Mahmoud will need to be transfered to a Special Needs School.

This Special Needs School is located in Tabarbour and Mahmoud’s family lives in Zarqa, which is quite far away. Mahmoud will therefore need to take a school bus, which the family cannot afford.

Mahmoud’s father works in a factory, earning $350 a month, all of which is spent on providing for the rest of the family.

One of Mahmoud’s dreams is to have the chance to go to this school, but current circumstances prevent him from doing so.

We want to help fulfill one of so many childhood dreams. In this case, that means helping Mahmoud’s family with monthly financial assistance towards his school fees.
