Enjoying the simple pleasures in life
The Golden Age Home is an elderly peoples home located in the Juwaidah area of Amman, Jordan. It was inaugurated in 1979 by His Majesty the late King Hussein.
The home serves around 130 elderly people and needs annual maintenance, which is costly. The head of the home, Ms Haifa Najjar says it requires the support of the government and society, but with a government that is bogged down with dealing with the Syrian refugee crisis, adverse economic conditions and ongoing financial distress, support is needed by many and the limited funds just aren't enough.
40 years after its establishment, the home is in dire need of renovation and improvements. We chose to try to help. And we would like to offer its residents a place to sit outdoors and enjoy the nature.
With your contribution, we will create shaded areas, plant new trees and flowers and purchase comfortable and suitable chairs and tables, so that a small corner of the Golden Age Home's premise can be a true oasis in the Jordanian desert.
